The Graves of Our Ancestors
The SCV's most important and hallowed mission charge is to the proper remembrance of our Confederate Veteran ancestors that fought during the Civil War. Since all of our Confederate Veterans have passed from this existence, the SCV now strives to care for our ancestors final resting places, wherever they may be.
Encampment #863, Major General Joseph Wheeler takes this charge extremely seriously and we devote uncounted manhours of their time to the clean up, restoration, and preservation of several grave sites in and around the Rockdale County area where Confederate Veterans are now in their final repose.
This section of our web site is devoted to the graves of our ancestors. We talk about some of our efforts towards maintaining often-forgotten grave sites as well as information on grave site etiquette.
